Tangram HQ Studio: a Montreal studio that builds its own apps

Founded by Benoit Descary, Tangram HQ Studio designs, builds and runs web and mobile apps, with AI. Why the studio exists, how it works and the products it is preparing.

Montreal, August 27, 2026. Tangram HQ Studio inc. is opening its News section. This is where the studio will publish its official announcements: product launches, new platforms and milestones. To begin, here is who we are.

Why Tangram HQ Studio

Tangram HQ Studio is Benoit Descary's project. Since 2006, he has helped Quebec small businesses get found online, first as a blogger, then as an SEO and digital strategy consultant. More than 200 engagements taught him one thing: a digital tool is worth what it brings to the person using it.

In 2024, development sessions with an AI coding assistant changed the scale of what a small team can build. A prototype became ChatDirect, and other products followed. They needed a home: Tangram HQ Studio inc.

“Every product at the studio, from the website to the client portal to the AI features, is developed with AI, under my direction. I bring the product vision and twenty years of hands-on work with local businesses. AI turns ideas into applications, at a speed a small team could never have reached a few years ago.”
Benoit Descary, founder of Tangram HQ Studio

What the studio does

Tangram HQ Studio designs, builds and runs responsive web apps and iOS and Android apps. The studio builds its own products first, for businesses and for consumers, and puts that experience to work for partners and clients.

The name comes from the tangram, the puzzle whose fixed pieces form hundreds of figures. The studio works the same way: one toolkit, made of expertise, a technology stack, an AI practice and a high design standard, reassembled for each product. What the studio learns on one product strengthens the others.

The studio's products

  • Olivi: a meal planner that builds the weekly menu and the grocery list. Available on the web; the Android and iOS apps are in preparation.
  • ChatDirect: an AI chatbot and lightweight CRM for small businesses, in beta.
  • Acheteur Futé: an AI real estate coach for buying a home in Quebec, in alpha.
  • Kaiku: a platform that measures a brand's visibility in Google and in AI answer engines, in alpha.
  • RenoPop: an iPhone and Android app for homeowners who manage the work on their own home, in pre-alpha.

How we work

Every product is developed with AI, under human direction, and every text is reviewed before publication. The studio is based in Montreal, works in French first and takes Law 25 seriously: data is hosted in Canada when it needs to be. Learn more about the studio
